Greetings!
We are excited to announce that the* National Learning Communities
Conference (NLCC) 2021* planning team has decided to shift our in-person
conference to a virtual format for this October’s event. We hope this
decision will allow for greater participation and flexibility for our
attendees during this time of continued uncertainty.

*CONFERENCE DETAILS *
The NLCC 2021 virtual conference will still take place October 21-23,
2023. Our theme – Cruzando Fronteras, Creating Communities – seems to have
an even deeper meaning now as we have all had to reach across pre-existing
or assumed borders this past year in order to (re)define “community” for
our students in a world that has been forever changed. We are hopeful
that our powerful keynote speakers – Dr. Ashley Finley, Dr. Janine
Graziano, and Diana López – will be able to participate in the event as
planned, but we will make sure to inform you of any changes. There
will still be a registration fee to cover costs, but it will
be greatly reduced from our regular conference fee rate. Registration will
open in late summer. For more information and additional updates as they

*PROPOSAL DEADLINE EXTENDED! *
Because of the shift to an online format, we are extending the proposal
deadline to *Friday, June 4*. We hope that you will consider submitting a
proposal for the NLCC 2021 virtual conference in one of the
four session format options: informative/panel presentation, interactive
session, facilitated dialogue, or 15-minute quick talk. Sessions will
likely be organized in 45-minute or 60-minute time blocks depending on the
number of accepted proposals.
If you have already submitted a NLCC 2021 proposal, or if you submitted a
proposal last year for NLCC 2020, then we still have your materials. All
NLCC 2020 and 2021 submissions will be included in the proposal review
process for the virtual conference in October. Please email us at
nlcc@xxxxxxxxxx with any questions regarding proposal submissions.
Of course, we are disappointed that we will not be able to welcome everyone
to Corpus Christi this October. The great news is that plans are already in
the works for TAMU-CC to host the NLCC in Corpus Christi again in the near
future, and we look forward to bringing everyone together again to our
Sparkling City by the Bay soon!
