LCT Queensland is based in Brisbane, Australia. The group has PhD students
and researchers working with both LCT and SFL. They hold weekly informal
discussions in hybrid mode on a broad range of topics including semiotics,
assessment and pedagogy and their applications in industry, business, the
arts, and in educational spaces.
This week’s recording from the fourth international LCT conference features
two sessions by LCT Queensland:

In this panel, Jack Walton, Ken Tann and Andrew Scott discuss authentic
assessment and how LCT provides the tools needed to interpret how tasks
require students to act between the demands of tertiary education and the
expectations of industry.
2. *Analysing authentic assessment tasks with LCT (Part 2)*

A practical workshop in which Andrew Scott, Ken Tann and Jack Walton
explore how different dimensions of LCT (Specialization, Semantics, and
Autonomy) enable insights into authentic assessment tasks that engage
industry priorities and embody educational principles.
