- Comments: "Observed at close range in excellent lighting with sun behind
me at this pin: 44.608968,-124.067635 . Among Barn and scattered Cliff
Swallows. Small swallow with brown back, well-defined and complete dark
breastband, paler neck sides. Head fairly large relative to body, fase
moderately and somewhat diffusely contrasting with light throat, wings
somewhat short and stubby, but not as much so as Cliff. Also heard
distinctive rising buzzy call earlier, but didn't count at time due to
short encounter."

- Comments: "Photos to come. Godwit with coloration similar to Red Knot in
some ways. Front of face and neck, all of breast, and most of belly uniform
salmon reddish. Bill slender, and upturned, possibly short compared to
Marbled. Bill not visibly bicolored, except base subtly paler at very close
range. Rear of belly and vent whitish. Back of neck and nape streaked with
blackish. Mantle mostly darkish with some buffy markings. Upperwing coverts
dark with striking light feather edges, a markedly different pattern than
on Marbled. In flight, tail whitish with contrasting black bars, primary
coverts darker than rest of wing. Our first ever breeding plumage one!"
