Late this afternoon/evening there was a fair number of shorebirds on the
beach in the Waldport area, north and south of Alsea Bay. The drizzling
fog made viewing difficult and you couldn't see very far but shorebirds
were encountered in pockets and included western and least sandpipers
(including juvies), sanderlings, semipalmated plovers, snowy plovers,
black-bellied plovers, and the best bird a Pacific golden plover. I wish
the conditions had been better but it beats the heat.
