A Bar-tailed Godwit — presumably the one found by Audrey Addison’s father
the other day on Agate Beach — is now at the base of the north jetty at
Yaquina Bay SP. It was found by Thomas Cramer this morning, reported to
eBird, then relayed by Nolan Clements to WhatsApp. (Thank you everyone.) It
is with 10-12 Whimbrels on the beach tight up against the base of the
jetty. We (Wild Turkeys Portland Audubon Birdathon team) viewed it just now
from the bluff at Yaquina Bay SP and it is a zillion miles away and the
viewing conditions (intermittent rain & wind) are pretty abysmal. Scope,
raincoat, and vivid imagination are needed.
