Subject: Volunteers needed for Migratory Bird day event in Yachats
To:
We are looking for volunteers to help with the Yachats Wild Thing, May 11 a
family kid festival honoring our local wildlife.
This year we're excited to partner with SWIFTY and the city of Yachats to
bring you Wild Things - our Migratory Bird Day celebration!
When: *Saturday, May 11 from 9am to 4pm*
Where: *Yachats Commons, 441 Hwy 101, Yachats, Oregon*
Here are some of the exciting things to look forward to:

Educational and interactive booths for all ages, exploring the wildlife
around us.

A parade of Wild Things featuring larger-than-life wearable puppets
(designed by Michael Guerriero and built through a great community art
project) where everyone can channel their inner Wild Thing. Come dressed
ready to let your wild side be free! Be a tree, be a bee, be an otter, or
be yourself. And join us in the parade of the Wild Things.

Native Plant Sale hosted by MidCoast Watersheds Council and Lincoln Soil
and Water Conservation District.

Musical performance by Your Song My Song, uplifting and engaging for all
ages.
-
The chance to explore during low tide for an up-close experience with
marine life.

Bird and plant walks through some of Yachats extra special spaces.

And a chance to celebrate Migratory Bird Day 2024
-
And so much more!
We need help staffing a booth for ASLC and with activities relating to
World Bird Migration Day, as well as with conducting bird walks at a local
wetland. We will have an ocean viewing platform and need more scopes. You
can come dressed as a wild thing if you want to channel your inner wildness.
We need folks to help assist with birdwalks, folks to staff the ASLC booth,
and folks who can help with games or art activities. Please talk it up with
your friends to help get the word out and *let us know if you can help for
all or part of the day! *
It's going to be fun!
