Friends, I want to let Friends know of a chance to do lobbying w/ a group of
"Dreamers" (youth who had/lost DACA status) who are here from AZ for 2 weeks &
hope to have local people of faith, esp., join them.
I heard their leader , Reyna, speak last nite at a Sanctuary mtg. This small
group drove from AZ in a van & are meeting everyone they can in Congress to
urge a Dream Act be passed. If anyone wd like to join them, even just as moral
support on one Hill visit-- sign up at bit.ly/faithindc
The form doesn't say much, so I'll attest: this group is sincere, together &
impressive--you wd be in good company w/ youth standing up for immigrants
rights if you did a visit with them. One Rep. they met with specifically asked
"Where are the people of faith speaking up for DACA this time around??"
Just wanted to pass this on in case anyone has time/interest. I can provide (a
bit) more detail. Time is short to get a Dream Bill done:122 young Americans
now lose DACA status every day.
In the light,
Naomi
