Dear Friends,
I was blessed to meet a woman artist, Marilee, (a friend's aunt) who lives
in DC. She used to create large sculptures but found the work too
physically demanding to continue -- so she turned to digital art in her mid
to late eighties!
For the past 20 years (she's 107 now) she has done small sculptures and
digital art. She is an amazing woman who was having a gallery opening next
month.
I just learned Marilee tested positive for COVID-19 and had to be
hospitalized. The doctors told her family that there's almost no chance she
could survive.* But she recovering!
My friends are now trying to find a good place where she can go to be
rehabilitated. And they're having to do this from their RV in Florida where
they have been isolated for over a month. While it's not been too bad for
them, isolation, especially around only strangers, is not a good option for
a woman of her age who has full use of her mental facilities.

*Sharing a bit of humor, in response to the doctor saying there's virtually
no chance Marilee surviving this, Dan wrote Marilee's response, " That's
okay, doctor, there was virtually no chance I'd live to 107!"
