Dear Friends,
We are hearing and getting lots of information about the coronavirus daily.
It creates stress and anxiety in our lives and those we love. We need to
keep perspective, support each other physically and spiritually while also
being safe. Let me pass along some actions Langley Hill is doing at the
meetinghouse and some good information that FGC has provided.
We are enhancing the cleaning of our space and surfaces with disinfectants
where germs might reside like tables and door knobs (you will notice cans
of Lysol around). We should avoid handshakes and greet each other when we
arrive and at the rise of meeting in creative ways that still create a
connection that is welcoming (I chose to hold my hands together and bow
slightly at the rise of worship on Sunday). During potlucks, food will be
served to avoid incidental contact with common serving utensils. There may
be other opportunities to reduce incidental contact if we are more
conscience of our movements and actions. Of course, if you are sick or feel
ill, please stay home since we have many older members who are most
vulnerable to any illness. Finally, it all starts with frequent hand
washing and care for one another.
For now, we are we are continuing to have Meeting for Worship, Second Hours
(including one on climate change with FCNL this Sunday), potlucks, Business
Meeting (scheduled for April 19 rather than Easter Sunday), and Committee
meetings. Remember that we do have a Zoom account if any committee clerk
wants to invite friends to join by phone/computer.
I will continue to consult with Ministry & Worship, House & Grounds and
others as the coronavirus spreads and listen to advice of health
professionals in our area to determine if further actions are prudent. If

We are aware of the growing concerns Friends have when it comes to the
*Coronavirus* (also known as *COVID-19*), and we want to offer resources
for you and your monthly meeting or church to help you plan ahead should
your local community be impacted. We also wanted to update you about the
status of upcoming committee meetings and FGC-sponsored and affiliated
events.
Creating a safe space for everyone is our top priority, both for Quaker
communities and Friends attending events.
