Hi Naomi,
Glad to hear you’re doing well, Naomi. It’s good to be busy in times like this.
Working and mask making! I just received an email from our County Executive
(MD) that asks that we all wear masks in public, even walking. I’ll have to
make do with a bandana wrapped around my face for now.
I hope you are fitting in time for some of your poetry writing too. Times like
these are ripe for emotions and reflections. And if you do write some, please
share. And I’d love to see a photo of your mask too!
Thinking of you,
Betty

Thank you for checking in with all of us,Betty & co. I'm doing just fine,
distancing.. . working at home...just sewed myself a cool mask.☺️
The mag I edit for is now working on an issue on grading. Glad I'm not a
teacher---but if I were, all of LH C&C would get an A-plus☺️!!

Dear Friends,
We learn from one another. And so, following Friend Mark’s Hello email a few
weeks ago and noticing the multiple, meaningful responses, Care and Clearness
decided to just ask how’s it going as one of our outreach efforts to our
community during this Covid-19 pandemic and time of social isolation. We plan
to do this every other week with a rotating C & C member facilitating, and
we’ll monitor the process to see if it’s speaking to our condition. Please let
us know.
So, feel free to share what’s up. As I used to ask my students, what’s easy,
what’s hard, and what helps? For community building, it would be nice to reply
to all on the list serv and feel free to reply to others’ responses. But if you
want to write directly just to me, or to one of the other committee members,
that’s fine too, especially if your response is deeply personal. Our names,
emails, and phone numbers are listed below. And yes, we accept phone calls too.
In sum, the Care and Clearness Committee of Langley Hill Friends Meeting cares
about you. That’s our “job.” Help us do it! Of course, we all care about each
other….that’s why we like this simple idea of sharing with one another what’s
up. And for now, it has to be electronically rather than in person. As my
friend Rosie the Riveter said, “We can do it!”
And remember, it’s an invitation, not an obligation.
With spirit,
Betty
