Dear Friends,
I just ran across something that reminded me of what I used to do for Sean
at Easter. I thought I'd share it with you in the hopes that the
combination of planning, creative expression, and joy might make the next
ten day more joyful. Note that Sean & Megan enjoyed this last year - as did
Paul & I as we watched - at ages 30 and 29 so it can be adjusted for any
age.
Each year Sean would wake up and find a clue & a basket - sometimes these
would be on the sink next to his toothbrush, sometimes on his bed -
somewhere obvious that he'd see when he first woke us. He'd have to solve
that clue to find the first treat and his next clue. The clues and
hiding places grew more sophisticated or difficult as he aged.
I used to use Seussical rhymes for the clues and Easter clip art, cut them
in shapes, etc. Let your creative side go wild!
It's also a great time to blow some eggs and help your child/ren paint
them. It's something that can last and doing it can be a good memory of
this time for them and you.
