Very interesting. There are some in norcal now and at least one in Josephine.
Overnight temps have been fairly warm and there is moth action at my house.

On this day a year ago a Poorwill was seen on the official Portland AS

About 5:30 this morning I heard a poor-will call twice, very clearly,
apparently in my yard or the street. I suspect it was close because I could
even hear the funky little “ip” that they often add to the call. I was in
bed but had just been up so I know I was awake.... It seems a bizarre record
but it was still dark out so I don’t think it could be starling or jay.
There is no useful visibility out my bedroom window and I did not go out
into the yard because it stopped calling and I was too lazy.
It also seems at least a week early. Average arrival at Malheur is May 14.
There are previous late April records for Lane.
Poor-will is rare but semi-regular in the eastern part of the county. It has
been found in migration in Eugene a couple of times before (and even in
Florence) but this was not on my expected list of yard-birds. I am surprised
that it was calling, too.
