Dear Birders,
Just under eight months here (River Road area, a couple blocks southwest of
North Eugene high school), and I reached 100 yesterday, May 2, when a LAZULI
BUNTING called as it flew over early in the morning. A little later a second
flew over, also calling, but then it broke out into a half song phrase while
migrating north. It just couldn't wait to get to its territory. Yesterday was
much more interesting for migrants here, with at least a dozen WESTERN TANAGERS
and several species of warblers. I added nothing new today. There's always
tomorrow.
Good Birding,
Rich
