I was biking through there this afternoon and heard the CHAT off to the
east, across the creek in the forest, and then a male LAZULI BUNTING
singing his heart out on the west side of the path.
Between Datalogic and Danebo, at the gravel trail, there were two dueling
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS, too. While watching them, I had about nine EVENING
GROSBEAKS fly overhead, going north and out of sight. I ID'd them by their
glowing in the sun tail tips as they were overhead and then the yellow
backs as they got in front of me.
GREAT songbirding! I may have missed all of these birds if it were not for
Ramiro's email that got me to stop and listen (and definitely bring my
binos). Thanks again!
