I know we have some folks that are spread out, so I figured I’d pass along this
anecdote.
Just finished swapping the cellular router at my in-law’s from an LTE one to a
5G one that t-mobile sent as a free upgrade. They now get consistently about
300Mbps download and upwards of 450Mbps, plus 25-35Mbps.
Cost is $50/mo, no contracts. Also, no data caps or anything like that.
So, if your internet options are limited, it may be worth checking them out. If
you don’t know if you have T-Mobile service in your area I’d be happy to swing
by with my phone and run a test.
Their story is they have no landline options, period. Xfinity wants $8k to
extend the lines from the neighbor’s house, and AT&T just says nope.
Sorry if this is off topic of typical and I’m sure seems kind of like an ad,
but really - internet at their house has been a source of extreme frustration
and until this became available last year we were just biding time for Starlink.
