We easily have the technology for these trucks. you could have modular
batteries. They say they typically only drive routes of 17 miles and that's
all stop and go, which is the most perfect use case of an EV if I have ever
seen one!! You could have a 30 mile range pack and then if there are more
rural routes, have it so you can easily add another module and get 60 miles
range. And that saves the 17 mile route guys from carrying around an
unnecessary 60 or 90 mile range battery pack.
I hope we can get the right people in there to make this happen, there is
no reason we can't have 90% of the USPS short haul fleet be electrified !!
I am sure Russel will back me up on this, if you all didn't know we have a
postman in our group!!
