Thanks Jonathan! It really helps to have a definite option for the meeting
space. I think the EV ride and drive at the show is HUGE!
These are just my thoughts - I just wanted to throw them out for discussion.
* I hope we’d quickly outgrow that 15 seat space and think we need to start
with something larger
* I dislike not having parking right outside the meeting place. I think
being able to stand by cars and talk before/after the meeting is valuable.
The Bearden branch of the Knoxville Public Library literally right across the
street from Whole Foods. (see below) Maybe we could have the Feb 8 meeting
there if it is open at that time? Just a thought. I’m willing to check on it.
If not, whoever is interested could stop by there after the meeting to see what
it is like.

KEVA Logo
I am not a graphic artist, but I know enough to make an attempt, so here is my
attempt at new KEVA logo.
My goal was to incorporate the EAA logo, the sunsphere, and the KEVA name.
This is just my proposal, comments and suggested changes are encouraged.

Subject: [knoxev] Room resos at UT CCB throughout 2020 + KEVA logo in ad!!
All,
Topic #1 – Space for KEVA Meetings
I spoke with Susan Goodwin briefly this morning to confirm what y’all needed in
terms of space, and then went and talked to the UT Conference Center Building
(CCB) reservations staff upstairs (on 4th floor; our ETCF offices are on the
3rd floor). Here’s what I’ve got for you:
* Room 323, on the 3rd floor, is semi-reserved from 6-8pm on every 2nd
Tuesday March through December
* What does “semi-reserved” mean? In short, UT CCB allows others in the
building (UT entities) to use space in the building at no cost if it is not in
use. I reserved all those dates and times for ETCleanFuels (because we’re part
of UTK); outside groups don’t get this benefit – that’s why it is reserved
under our name. However, if they have some big paying customer come in… they
will sometimes boot us from the room. However she didn’t expect that to happen
this year. The biggest worry is “Kids U” which happens during the summer, but
there will be some construction at the entrance to the CCB over the summer and
they are moving many kids sessions to other buildings on campus.
* It depends on how you setup the room, but you should have more than
enough room for a meeting for 15 people with some space on the side. I’ve
attached a few photos for you to see. (There were 15 chairs in the room when I
went in there… you can’t see some of them because they were in the corner.
Also, you can rearrange the tables and chairs however you wish.)
* There is a screen in the room but not a permanent projector or laptop.
However, we can provide a projector and I assume one of you has a laptop that
you can use, if needed.
* I wouldn’t plan to bring in lots of food, but if some of you want to
bring in something for you or to share, should be OK. I don’t think you would
be able to have another group that isn’t the CCB come in and cater, but I could
be wrong. I’ll try to check on this!
* You can park for free in the Locust Street garage (upon leaving the gates
will be raised; starts at I think 7pm). There are other lots with L2s as
needed. The space should be much easier for everyone to hear; these hallways
are typically very quiet.
So in summary on this just let me know if you all like this option. I can
remove all the resos if you decide on another venue that works better.

Topic #2 – the Knox Auto Show
As I think everyone knows by now, KEVA is managing a booth and some vehicles
inside at the KAS while DET/ETCF is managing a Ride-n-Drive (RnD) outside. We
are pulling together the vehicles and making plans for staff and taking care of
surveys, etc. for our outside presence. (We also have to have someone at the
RnD registration booth for the entire time)
As part of the $1k we paid and the benefits we are receiving from KAS folks, we
are getting some ad space. Daniel Siksay in our office made the attached, and
we wanted you to know that we wanted to mention KEVA and show your logo in at
least some of the ads we are making. The ad that is attached will be pretty
huge (I think it will be 9” square) and appear in the KNS.
Know that
1. the KEVA logo needs to be redone as a vector; we might be able to assist
with this if needed. All that has existed for many years is a very small
non-vector version.
2. Daniel had to recreate the logo that you see in the ad so it is not
EXACTLY the same as the KEVA logo, but it is close enough.
Let us know what else we can do to help and I hope that everyone has a great
weekend!
Peace
Jonathan
