The accident was a shock for the global and especially the Japanese auto
industry, warned analyst Takaki Nakanishi from Nakanishi Automotive Industry

Daimler, Ford and General Motors, the production lines have recently stood
still for weeks in some cases.
The Japanese competitors have gotten off lightly so far. Now Toyota, Honda and
Nissan must also tremble. “The domestic automotive industry has remained
relatively unaffected by the recent semiconductor crisis. The fire at Renesas
could overturn this situation, ”emphasized Nakanishi.
