Team,
Eric has two teams working to “vectorize” the original artwork with some fairly
quick turnarounds. So we are waiting to see what kind of results he receives.
Erstwhile, he has found a vector version of that exact same ball/sunsphere
which we have saved, and I have a vector lightning bolt that is about a close
as we can get to that bolt. So just know plans a and b are underway.

For the Tee shirts, Photoshop can produce a sufficiently sharp image,
presumably in a format that the printer can use. (We’re talking about an image
size of about 5x5 on the shirts.) However, if we have to make changes to get a
vector image for future use, then there will be some slight differences between
the first generation of shirts and later uses.

Bob – It’s true what you end up with is vector, but if a non-vector is part of
what is put into what you create, and you zoom in on the final vector you made,
you’ll see the raster limitations of the original pieces. See the attached as
an example.
No matter how far you zoom in, the font is clean and clear because it was
vector going in. Zoom in and look at the sunsphere and bolt.
I think we have this problem solved though… I’ve found several suitable vector
spheres and bolts… I just need to show them to Eric to see which ones he wants
to work on the final artwork.

Adobe Illustrator or similar software will convert most any format to a vector
graphic if that's a requirement for the design. I've had to do that for our
non-profit logos before.

Susan, all,
Eric had pulled that excellent Sunsphere top from what he found in a “disco
ball” search in Canva. (LOL) However it is a raster image; that means it’s
non-vector and won’t scale for producing one color and one all-one-color
version (for later use) of the logo. Also, I believe the bolt came out of
Canva, but nonetheless, it is a raster image too.
There are thousand of vector bolts that we can find, but the Sunsphere-looking
disco ball is going to need some work.
Options:
1. Horribly, Daniel is now off until March 29; we are going to need someone
in KEVA to pick up the ball (hehe) here and help out with the artwork.
2. Eric mentioned something about being able to take that raster Sunsphere
and trace it to produce a vector version – Eric, can you do this and end up
with a vector version??
3. Whomever works on that can work on the bolt to I assume.
4. ETCF does have a Shutterstock subscription and I am right now looking at
vector options. There are 241 pages apparently of vector images… it is going to
take me a bit to look through all these! I will report back ASAP on what I find
in there and hopefully screen shot some examples to you, but we may not find
that EXACT ball… they may be a bit different (and I love the specific one that
Eric found)
I am working on this…

Have we worked out the kinks in the logo and needing vector graphics? Susan I
can send you bigger versions of the logo if they need it.

Subject: [knoxev] KEVA t-shirts
Hello KEVA,
I have information for ordering KEVA t-shirts that we could wear to future EV
events. All I'd need from you is: how many/order (that means if your spouse
wants one or daughter, etc.) & what size(s).
The tees will cost $15.00 each (tax included), they are pre-shrunk & true to
size. They are Next Level, which is a softer, better grade than cheaper tees.
If you are getting a fitted tee(s), it is recommended to go up at least one
size. If anyone has any questions, either email or call me at (865) 368-2488.
I would like to order these by next Wed, the 24th, so we can have them for
DEED.. We need a minimum order of 36 tees. Of course, if we have any
leftovers we can sell them to newbies when they join KEVA!
Here is what they would look like (subject to a possible slight difference in
the shade of blue).
<image001.jpg>
Finally, I can still use volunteers for the event. I need two people at the
checkin/Covid tent and two at the KEVA information table, and I'd like to be
able to swap people out during the day. Also, one more to do a 15 minute talk
(twice) that day. Still working on that talk, unless someone has a suggestion.
Thanks, looking forward to getting out there to do our EVthang!
