Hi everyone! Our June meeting will be this Saturday June 13th, at 11am at
the Carl Cowan Park to help us maintain good social distancing while
getting some fresh air and sun.
Located at 10058 S Northshore Dr, Knoxville, TN 37922.
We will meet in the back area of the park past the kids splash pad area,
where there is a large shaded area with some picnic benches. Bring your
chairs to sit out. There is plenty of parking and bathrooms onsite. I have
attached a map made up for us by our wonderful Susan Goodwin. Jack and
Susan did the legwork to find us this good spot. If we get there and the
spot is taken there should be some other spots around that we can use as
well.
Sorry there is no charging at this park. Maybe we can help change that down
the road!
The rough agenda will be to discuss updates on the logo, and website. You
will be getting additional email discussion about the website shortly, so
keep an eye out for that. As always we will be discussing any and all the
latest news in the world of electric vehicles. I may have some news to
report about the new Drive Electric Tennessee AWARNESS working group as
they have implemented various working groups and it makes sense for us to
be involved in the Awareness group. DET's ultimate goal is to have 200,000
EVs on the road in TN by 2028. Let's see if we can help them get there. One
of the areas they have I think we can assist with is "EV Charging Station
Signage", where we help come up with cohesive state wide charging signage.
We will also brainstorm more ideas for National Drive Electric Week in the
age of social distancing. I am working on trying to get some guest
speakers and such for future meetings.
Last year we had several members take some reallly long EV trips, is anyone
planning trips this summer for vacation or such?

I think I can do A if the majority falls there, but have a BS Eagle Scout
project to help with that afternoon. If we could meet somewhat closer to
the top end of I-140 in the West Knoxville area, I think I could make it.
Maybe in one of the large parking lots that are on the south side of Cedar
Bluff, like where the Home Depot is, off in the middle of the lot? Or
another closer-to-Goodwins-Marty-Jonathan option could be the back of the
Kroger parking lot where Northshore runs underneath I-140? (Or the Target
parking lot on other side of the interstate {west side]?)

Hi everyone,
I have heard a request for a parking lot meeting this Saturday.
So I am going to put it to a vote.
Saturday is Sunny but only with a high of 58, so it could be a little
chilly maybe only high 47 when we meet at 11am.
A) We meet at a big parking lot and all circle our cars, bring chairs and
we space out a socially safe distance. Suggest a parking lot in your
response.
B) We do another Zoom meeting from the comfort of your home.
