As you likely know Cracker Barrel was an early EV supporter by installing
charging stations at most stores along the 40/75/24 corridor.
Unfortunately, likely due to Blink, they had a bad experience as the Blink
equipment was very problematic and Blink's support was virtually
non-existent. As such they charging system is all but shut down now. BUT
the wires are in the ground. I have been taking to people at the Tennessee
Department of Transportation and they are open to using some the Volkswagen
funds to help jump start EV charging. They have even reached out to Cracker
Barrel but Cracker Barrel has not responded back.
If you feel so inclined, could you contact Cracker Barrel urging them to not
abandon EV charging as there are now much better charging equipment
available, and how you would likely frequent them more if the offered
charging? Maybe if they hear from MANY customers they will allow the
Tennessee Department of Transportation or another, install new equipment.
