I had a friend who was a Scoutmaster in Knoxville for many years. He said
that, climatologically, it rains one day in three in Knoxville. From that, he
concluded that 1. If it’s raining here, it’s not raining there. 2. If it’s
raining now, it won’t be raining then. 3. The best time to leave on a camping
trip is when it's raining in Knoxville.

Even though there is a chance of rain this Saturday, we are most definitely
STILL ON for our event at the Townsend Visitors Center!
According to the National Weather Service forecast for Townsend, there is a
30% chance of rain at 10 AM and that increases to 50% at 2 PM. But as we all
know from living here in east Tennessee, summer showers are often so spotty
it's possible it could rain around us but not on us!
Also, there are now several fliers for our event posted at various businesses
in Townsend. If we don't show up because of a little rain, it might
reinforce the unfortunate myth that EVs don't do well if they get wet (I
recently had someone ask me if I could take my car through a car wash)!
If possible, please arrive before 10 AM. We have no idea what the public
turnout will be like (this is a grand experiment) but we are hoping to speak
with lots of EV-curious folks that day!
Thanks!
