Overheard at the KEVA meeting 11 Aug 2018
There are two Knoxville NDEW events:
Sat Sep 8, 12PM TO 4PM at Neyland stadium, Gate 21 organized by ET Clean
Fuels (Jonathon Overly) Sign up on the NDEW web site pin if you are going
to help.
Sat Sep 15 at Whole Foods organized by the KnoxEV club
For the Sep 15 event, if you are going to help (i.e.to talk to people,
bring a vehicle, etc.) then it would be good if you register as a
volunteer via the NDEW site:

We are checking on signage for the event: One Day Signs was a possible
source for “A” frame signs with change out boards. (Anyone want to own
this one)? We have funds to cover…
We have multiple dealer cars projected for the KEVA event: Chevrolet,
Toyota, Ford, BMW, and Mercedes to name several for the drive part.
Multiple members are bringing their cars for the ride part
We have space for an informal area were some bring "other things electric"
such as yard equipment, mowers, scooters, bikes, etc.
There is interest in this so Gary, you may let the Stihl rep know that his
electric equipment is welcome and desired.
Rachel (Smart/Mercedes) is checking on medial outreach/advertising. Our
treasurer Leslie also has an interest so perhaps they can coordinate
efforts. We discussed newspaper/online news and television flyers, etc.
Please send pictures to Eric (via group email) for him to put up on our
NDEW site from last year’s event.
Word was that KUB had been approached before but no actions ensued as a
result. Perhaps we need to contact the right people. EV use will increase
electricity sales that have been stagnant for most utilities. Maybe they
could sponsor and/or announce upcoming events in the utility bills.
It is suggested that we need to have a sign put outside Whole Foods for
regular meetings to direct people to the meet up space.
Patrick brought up the Top Wrench competition at Crown College this October
25 from 8am to 3pm. Does KEVA want to display cars and talk to students
and/or take on some minor duties for the event?
This year’s Alternative Fuels event will be held in Knoxville at the UT
Engineering building September 17, 2018 2 pm to 7 pm.
