BNSF Railroad Repairs to close Southside Expwy.
KLAMATH FALLS - Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad crews will begin work to
replace an aging rail line crossing the Southside Expressway (OR140) between
Altamont and Summers Lane on Tuesday, July 25 at 5:00AM. To facilitate the
work, the Southside Expressway will be closed to all through traffic from 5AM
Tuesday, July 25 through Thursday, July 27 at 7PM
Motorists traveling eastbound on the Southside Expressway will be detoured
through the following route:
Southside Expressway to Altamont Drive
Altamont Drive to Brett Way
Brett Way to Summers Lane
Summers Lane to Southside Expressway
Motorists traveling westbound on the Southside Expressway will be detoured
through the following route:
Southside Expressway to Summers Lane
Summers Lane to Anderson Avenue
Anderson Avenue to Altamont Drive
Altamont Drive to Southside Expressway
Flaggers will provide traffic control through the posted detour route during
the closure period.
This 1.5 mile long, posted detour route is open to vehicles and trucks not
operating on oversize/overweight permits. Drives of trucks operating under an
oversize/overweight permit are advised to call the Over-Dimension Permits unit
at 503-373-0000 for alternate route information.
