Good morning emergency managers. Sharing for your reference. Our stats:
64 Oregon fire agencies
15 Strike Teams who are working the Thomas fire (Ventura area - 7 currently
assigned) and the Creek fire (LA area - 8 currently assigned)
OSFM has reported there are 269 Oregonians who deployed
75 fire apparatus
YAY Team Oregon!!! Oops, sorry if that sounds bad! Just really proud of our
fire service who stepped up not once, but twice (within 6 weeks!), to assist
California at a moments notice.

Weather/Red Flag Warnings
Southern California
***Offshore winds to increase again Saturday night and Sunday***
***Warm and very dry through the period***
Offshore winds will be weaker today and Saturday, but expect northeast winds of
15-25 mph with gusts to 40 mph to be possible during the afternoon hours.
There may be a sudden transition from light winds at ongoing incidents to
offshore flow during the late morning hours once local inversions break.
Temperatures today will be in the 80s from the Central Coast southward to the
Mexican border. Slightly cooler temperatures will be possible this weekend due
to an increase in high clouds. Offshore winds will ramp up to the 20-35 mph
Saturday night and Sunday with gusts to 60 mph possible. The strongest winds
may be in San Diego County this weekend. Winds look to be lighter next week
overall, but expect offshore winds to maintain dry and warm conditions through
next Friday. No rain is expected through at least the 20th.
Large fire potential will remain very high through the weekend due to offshore
winds, low RH and very warm temperatures. There may be another surge in
initial attack and resource demand Sunday due to stronger offshore winds.
Ongoing fires may see significant growth on Sunday as well. Monday, winds may
transition to local or diurnal wind patterns which may result in different
parts of the fire becoming active, or the possibility of shifting flame fronts.
But lighter winds next week may afford a better opportunity for air resources
to be utilized. IA will be heavy through the weekend, then moderate next week.
Northern California
A dominant ridge of high pressure will remain persistent for at least the next
7 to 10 days. All of the weather models show this same weather pattern so
confidence is high. Afternoon temperatures will be above to well above normal
with overnight lows near to a little above normal. The atmosphere will be dry
with unusually low humidity most areas for this time of year. Coastal and some
Sacramento valley bottom areas should see some better RH recovery by the
weekend. Strong stable layers or atmospheric inversions will develop under
this pattern and provide some mid slope warming and drying effects. Residual
gusty N to NE and even offshore wind flow will occur today and tonight with a
similar although lighter flow on Thursday. Peak gusts will generally range
between 20 to 30 mph although locally up to 40 mph possible along the east
slopes of the Sacramento Valley through this evening. A much lighter and more
variable wind flow will start up on Friday and last into the weekend. There is
some potential for an enhanced N to NE wind flow early next week but the
gustier winds would be a little more localized compared to the past N to NE
wind event. No wetting precipitation in sight!
