Subject: [Klamath County Fire Defense Board] Active Shooter Tabletop Exercises
My office, along with several other agencies, have been nibbling at the
elephant that is school active shooter incidents for the past year. The event
at UCC last week made us realize we need to take some big bites. Therefore, in
conjunction with both the City and County School Districts, we will be
conducting tabletop active shooter exercises at every single k-12 facility (and
potentially KCC and OIT) over the next several months. We would like to get as
much participation from your agencies as you can provide (your input as first
responders is the most vital piece to the success of these exercises).
This is a heads up; once we have schedules and locations better nailed down I
will contact you and your agency directly. If you have any special concerns or
wish to be involved in the planning process, please let me know, I'd be very
happy to have the help.
