Weird that this has come up. Another fan just offered me $175 USD for my copy
of this single. Alas, I sold it to Paul Jackson earlier this year (for a much
more reasonable amount of money!)
Woloschuk claims no recollection of the session; but I did an interview with
Cochrane back in 1999 for my music Encyclopedia and he claims it was all three
of them. The recording seems to be the proof -- the harmonies are VERY
"California Jam" -- a trait that would intimate JW's involvement.
And the reason Klaatu was only on ONE track was that it was Cochrane's last
song recorded for Daffodil -- it was a radio single to see if there was life
left in Tom's attempt to be a singer-songwriter. Daffodil's Frank Davies let
him out his deal after two solo albums and a fistful of failed singles.
Cochrane ended up driving a cab from 1976 through 1979 to make ends meet.
He would later have his revenge fronting Red Rider and then, of course, writing
the 5 million selling song "Life Is A Highway" (TWICE! Once as a solo release,
and again when Rascal Flatts covered it for the Disney/Pixar film "Cars")
Tom's bassist for Red Rider is Jeff Jones...also an alumni of Bullseye Records.
