That does seems to be the trend today. Because of games like Rock
Band and Guitar Hero, the original multi-tracks of many classic rock
songs are now available. For example, two that I've been working with
for mashups lately are "Woman From Tokyo" and "Old Time Rock And
Roll" (which I will also release soon as a remix). Both of these
tunes have ALL of the original parts clearly past the fade out
sections. I rather enjoyed listening to the great guitar riffs that
the Silver Bullet Band had in the last :25 of OTR&R, and wondered why
they cut all that out - until I remembered it's original release date
(about 1978, I think) and how we were still all in the 3 1/2 minute
single mindset back then....

And speaking of which, feel free to check out my newest mashups here:

.....or from here:

(will be available tomorrow)

My Bob Seger OTR&R mashup and remix should be released within a week....
