Started reading FLUX by Stephen Baxter yesterday 2018-02-18.
This is book six of the Xeelee Sequence, my personal 2018 reading goal.
Finished reading FLUX by Stephen Baxter today 2018-02-26.
Somewhat interesting, but I struggled through it rather than enjoy it.
It takes place in the Xeelee universe, but is pretty immaterial to the
larger story -- very much a side-event, and one that's quite tedious for
a lot of the book. The star-dwelling humans are clearly very carefully
thought-out, but that doesn't make them likeable or fascinating.
The weakest of the four mainline Xeelee novels I've read so far. You
could skip it without ever missing anything particularly important.
