BMW will mehr Hybrid- und E-Autos verkaufen
BMW will in diesem Jahr 60.000 und im kommenden Jahr 100.000 reine
Elektrofahrzeuge und Hybride verkaufen, sagte BMW-Chef Harald Krüger im
Gespräch mit der "Süddeutschen Zeitung". Er ist überzeugt, dass die
Elektromobilität kommen wird, obwohl die Nachfrage momentan noch nicht durch
die Decke gehe. Im Jahr 2025 rechne er mit rund 20 Prozent Elektroautos und 80

Neues Werk in Mexiko: Toyota trotzt Trump
Toyota baut ein neues Werk im mexikanischen Bundesstaat Guanajuato. Dort wird
ab 2019 der Kompaktwagen Corolla produziert. Der mexikanische
Wirtschaftsminister Ildefonso Guajardo und Toyota-Chef Takeshi Uchiyamada haben
den Grundstein für das Werk gelegt, in das Toyota eine knappe Milliarde Dollar

Mercedes-Motoren: Was Daimler den anderen Herstellern voraus hat
Mercedes-Benz krempelt sein Antriebsportfolio massiv um und investiert dazu

Sechszylinder-Diesel- und -Benzinmotoren. Der Autobauer verabschiedet sich vom

Internet der Dinge: T-Systems und Eaton kooperieren
Der IT-Dienstleister T-Systems und der Spezialist im Bereich Energiemanagement
Eaton arbeiten branchenübergreifend beim Internet der Dinge (IoT) zusammen. Die
beiden Firmen bieten Maschinen- und Anlagenbauern IoT-Lösungen zur Vernetzung
ihrer Systeme in der Cloud. Dabei ermöglichen die Automatisierungskomponenten
Eatons die einfache Anbindung an die Multi-IoT-Plattform von T-Systems auf
Basis des OPC UA-Standards. Maschinenbauer sollen auf diese Weise künftig

Manz leidet unter ausgebliebenen Aufträgen
Der Umsatz des Maschinenbauers Manz ist in den ersten neun Monaten dieses
Jahres im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum leicht von rund 169 Millionen Euro
auf etwas mehr als 167 Millionen Euro gesunken. Dies teilte das Unternehmen am
15. November mit. Unter dem Strich stand ein Verlust von beinahe 31 Millionen
Euro - im Vorjahr hatte das Minus noch bei fast 34 Millionen Euro gelegen.
Grund für diese Entwicklung sind dem Unternehmen zufolge ausgebliebene

General Electric kauft Servicemax
General Electric kauft das Startup-Unternehmen Servicemax für 915 Millionen
Dollar, wie Servicemax mitgeteilt hat. Die Akquisition des Startups soll einer
Pressemitteilung von GE zufolge den Außendienst von GE effizienter machen.
Servicemax ist ein Spezialist für Cloud-basierte Software, die
Außendienstmitarbeiter wie Aufzug-Reparateuren und Arbeitern auf Ölplattformen

BMW plans to sell 60,000 purely electric vehicles and hybrids this year, and
100,000 in 2017, BMW CEO Harald Krüger told "Süddeutsche Zeitung". He is

New plant in Mexico: Toyota defies Trump
Toyota Motor is to build a new plant in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. It
plans to produce the Corolla compact car there as of 2019. Mexican economy

in a groundbreaking ceremony for the new factory, in which Toyota plans to
invest nearly one billion dollars. It will have an annual capacity of 200,000

IoT: T-Systems and Eaton to cooperate
IT services provider T-Systems and Eaton, a specialist for energy management,
have agreed to cooperate in the field of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions in
various industries. The two firms will offer IoT solutions to machinery and
plant builders for the integration of their systems in the cloud. Eaton's
automation components allow a simple integration with the Multi-IoT-platform by
the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary on the basis of the OPC UA standard. Using the
above solution, mechanical engineers will be able to supervise devices directly

Manz suffers from a lack of orders
German engineering company Manz posted revenue of about 167 million euros for
the first nine months of the year, slightly down from the 169 million euros
generated in the same period a year ago. The company saw a net loss of 31
million euros in the period, compared to a net loss of 34 million euros last
year, it said on November 15. Manz attributed the development to a dearth of

Servicemax bought by General Electric
The startup Servicemax has said that it is being acquired by General Electric
for 915 million dollars. GE said in a press release that it will rely on the
firm to make field operations more efficient. Servicemax is a specialist for
