Toyota will 2015 kein Geld in Russland verlieren
Toyota will in Russland in diesem Jahr trotz der Wirtschaftskrise und des
Markteinbruchs keine roten Zahlen schreiben. Gleichzeitig will der japanische
Automobilhersteller seinen Marktanteil von rund sieben Prozent halten, während
die Neuzulassungen in dem Land um rund ein Viertel absacken dürften. Dies sei
allerdings eine "große Herausforderung", sagte Toyotas Europachef Didier Leroy

Ford präsentiert E-Bikes
Ford wagt sich in Richtung E-Bikes, weil Mobilität mehr ist, als nur mit dem
Auto mobil zu sein. Auf dem Mobile World Congress präsentierte Ford die
Erweiterung seines global ausgerichteten "Smart Mobility Plan", eine
Zusammenfassung von bislang 25 Mobilitätsprojekten rund um autonomes Fahren und
intelligente Mobilität. Das neue Projekt nennt sich "Handle on Mobility" und
ist ein digital vernetztes E-Bike-Experiment, bei dem E-Bikes in den
städtischen Verkehr sowie im Bereich der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel integriert

Porsche will Anteile an Capricorn übernehmen
Porsche will sich mit 25,1 Prozent am Automobilzulieferer Capricorn beteiligen.
Der deutsche Zulieferer sei als Spezialist für die Entwicklung und Fertigung
von Komponenten aus Faserverbundstoffen ein wichtiger Lieferant für das Modell
918 Spyder, erklärte der Sportwagenhersteller. Der Vertrag mit Capricorn

Magna Steyr will Hybrid-Sportwagen vorstellen
Magna Steyr ist zwar als Automobilzulieferer und Auftragshersteller wohl
bekannt, will nun auf dem Genfer Autosalon in dieser Woche aber auch ein
Sportwagen-Konzept vorstellen. Der Mila Plus soll die Hybrid-Technologie zur
Schau stellen und werde von einem Dreizylinder-Benzinmotor sowie zwei
elektrischen Motoren angetrieben, teilte das Unternehmen mit. Er komme so auf
270 PS. Insgesamt soll das Konzeptauto Magna Steyrs Herstellungsmethoden und

Autonotruf eCall soll Pflicht werden
Das automatische Notrufsystem eCall soll nach dem Willen der EU-Staaten in drei
Jahren zur Pflicht werden. Vom 31. März 2018 an sollen Automobilhersteller alle
neuen Modelle mit der nötigen Technologie ausstatten, wie die EU-Staaten am 2.
März in Brüssel beschlossen. Nun muss nur noch das Europaparlament zustimmen,
was als wahrscheinlich gilt. Bei einem Unfall soll das System automatisch einen
112-Notruf auslösen, auch wenn der Fahrer bewusstlos ist. (dpa - 03. März 2015)
Honeywell will Werk in Cranston schließen
Honeywell International will sein Werk in Cranston, Rhode Island, USA, bis Ende
nächsten Jahres schließen. Das Unternehmen stellt an dem Standort
Sicherheitsausrüstung her. Im Laufe dieses Jahres soll die Produktion langsam
heruntergefahren werden und 2016 enden. Mitarbeiter in der Produktion und im
Vertrieb werden ihre Jobs verlieren, Mitarbeiter aus anderen Bereichen sollen

Toyota does not want to lose money in Russia
Toyota wants to avoid slipping into the red in Russia this year, despite the
economic crisis and the market collapse. At the same time, the Japanese
automaker wants to keep its market share of about seven percent, while the
number of new registrations in the country is estimated to fall by one fourth.
However, this is a "great challenge," said Didier Leroy, president of Toyota
Motor Europe, on March 2, prior to the beginning of this year's Geneva Motor

Ford presented e-bikes
Ford is venturing into the e-bike segment, as mobility is more than just being
mobile with a car. At the Mobile World Congress, Ford has presented the
expansion of its globally oriented "Smart Mobility Plan," wrapping up 25
individual mobility projects on autonomous driving and smart mobility. The new
project, called "Handle on Mobility", is a digitally connected e-bike
experiment that is intended to integrate e-bikes into urban traffic and public

Porsche wants to buy stake in Capricorn
Porsche plans to buy a 25.1-percent stake in automotive supplier Capricorn. As
a specialist for the development and production of fiber-reinforced plastic,
the German company is an important supplier for the 918 Spyder model, the
sports-car manufacturer explained. The cartel authorities still have to approve

Magna Steyr to debut hybrid sports car concept
While Magna Steyr is best known as an automotive supplier and contract
manufacturer, the company plans to debut a sports concept car at the Geneva
auto show this week. Intended to showcase hybrid technology, the Mila Plus is
powered by a three-cylinder gasoline engine paired with two electric motors,
and produces 270 hp, according to the company. Overall, the concept is intended
to demonstrate Magna Steyr's manufacturing methods and new construction

eCall system to become mandatory
The EU member states want to make the automatic emergency call system eCall
mandatory within the next three years. The member states decided in Brussels on
March 2 that automakers have to equip all new models with the required
technology as of March 31, 2018. The European Parliament still has to approve
the decision but is expected to do so. In case of an accident, the system is
programmed to set off an automatic emergency call, especially if the driver is

Honeywell to close Cranston plant
Honeywell International has announced its intention to close its plant in
Cranston, Rhode Island, USA, by the end of next year. The company, which makes
safety equipment at the Cranston site, said it will phase out operations
starting later this year, ending in 2016. Manufacturing and distribution
employees will be laid off, but non-production employees will be moved to
