BMW eröffnet neues Motorenwerk in China
BMW Brilliance Automobiles (BBA), das Joint Venture zwischen BMW und Brilliance
Automobiles, hat im nordchinesischen Shenyang ein neues Motorenwerk mit
Leichtmetallgießerei eröffnet. Dort soll künftig die jüngste Generation der BMW
TwinPower Turbo Drei- und Vierzylinder-Ottomotoren gebaut werden. Das Werk wird
damit die BMW Brilliance Automobilwerke Dadong und Tiexi beliefern. Die
Produktionskapazität beläuft sich nach Angaben des Herstellers auf 300.000

Hyundai integriert Android Auto in deutsche Modelle
Hyundai wird nach dem US-Markt auch in Europa die Google-Technologie Android
Auto in seine Fahrzeuge integrieren. So wird der Hersteller die Technologie in
diesem Jahr im neuen i40 Kombi auf den deutschen Markt bringen. "Mit Android
Auto im neuen i40 Kombi können während der Fahrt Apps auf dem Smartphone
bedient werden - ohne das Handy in die Hand zu nehmen und ohne Strafzettel",

Der Automobilzulieferer Johnson Controls erwirbt den Mischkonzern Tyco
International. Die bisherigen Johnson-Aktionäre sollen etwa 56 Prozent der
Anteile des neuen Unternehmens halten, dessen Sitz sich im Tyco-Standort Irland
befinden werde, gaben die beiden Unternehmen am 25. Januar bekannt. Die
Akquisition solle bis Ende des Geschäftsjahrs 2016 abgeschlossen sein und für
jährliche Steuereinsparungen in Höhe von mindestens 150 Millionen Dollar

VW steht vor Start der Mammutrückrufe
Ende Januar sollen die ersten Dieselmodelle mit manipulierter Software aus dem
VW-Konzern hierzulande in die Werkstätten rollen. Auf das Netz der
VW-Vertragswerkstätten kommt daher eine gigantische Arbeitswelle zu. Nach
Angaben des Autoherstellers gibt es in Deutschland 2.173 Volkswagen-Partner,
deren Werkstätten für den Rückruf autorisiert sind. Angesichts von 2,4
Millionen zurückgerufenen Autos ergeben sich somit rechnerisch 1.100 Fahrzeuge
pro Werkstatt. Branchen-Insider rechnen mit durchschnittlich mindestens 90

Samsung: Keine unmittelbaren Auswirkungen durch Haiers Übernahme von GE-Sparte
Samsung Electronics hat am 25. Januar angekündigt, dass die Übernahme des
Haushaltsgeräte-Geschäfts von General Electric durch den chinesischen
Hersteller Haier Group kurzfristig keinen großen Einfluss auf seine Bilanz
haben werde. "GE und Haier verfolgen verschiedene Ziele und unsere
Produktpaletten unterscheiden sich von ihren", sagte Seo Byung-sam,

Rekord-November für Bauhauptgewerbe bei Auftragseingang
Nach einem schwachen Oktober haben sich die Auftragsbücher des deutschen
Bauhauptgewerbes im Folgemonat stark gefüllt. Die Bestellungen wuchsen im
November 2015 real um 15,0 Prozent gegenüber dem Vormonat, wie das Statistische
Bundesamt am 25. Januar mitteilte. Es war demnach der stärkste Anstieg in einem
November seit dem Start der Zeitreihe im Jahr 1991. Sowohl im Wohnungsbau als
auch im gewerblichen Hoch- und Tiefbau seien mehr Aufträge eingegangen, gab ein

BMW opens new engine plant in China
BMW Brilliance Automobiles (BBA), a joint venture of BMW and Brilliance
Automobiles, has opened a new engine plant including light-metal foundry in
Shenyang in the north of China. The site is to produce the latest generation of
BMW TwinPower Turbo three- and four-cylinder gasoline engines. It will supply
the BMW Brilliance auto plants in Dadong and Tiexi. Production capacity is

Hyundai integrates Android Auto technology in German models
Hyundai is to integrate the Google technology Android Auto in its vehicles on
the European market. It already uses the technology in the U.S. This year,
Android Auto will be introduced in Germany in the new i40 station wagon. "With
Android Auto, drivers of the new i40 station wagon can use apps on their
smartphones while driving - without actually picking up the mobile and without
getting a ticket," the company explains. Other automakers like Toyota bank on

Johnson Controls to buy Tyco
Another takeover worth billions is set to take place in the U.S. Automotive
supplier Johnson Controls is about to acquire the conglomerate Tyco
International. The existing Johnson shareholders are to own a stake of about 56
percent in the new company, which will be headquartered at Tyco's Ireland
location, the two companies announced on January 25. The acquisition is to be
completed by the end of the business year 2016 and bring about annual tax

Volkswagen facing start of massive recalls
At the end of January, the first VW diesel models with manipulated software are
to arrive at workshops in Germany. Authorized VW workshops are thus facing a
gigantic wave of work. According to the automaker, 2,173 Volkswagen partners in
Germany have workshops that are authorized to carry out repairs related to the
recall. As a total of 2.4 million vehicles have been recalled, this amounts to
1,100 vehicles per workshop. Industry insiders calculate that work on each car

Samsung sees no immediate impact from Haier's takeover of GE unit
Samsung Electronics announced on January 25 that Chinese home appliance maker
Haier Group's takeover of the household appliance business of U.S.-based
General Electric will not have a great impact on its performance over the short
term. "GE and Haier pursue different goals and our product lineups are
different from theirs," said Seo Byung-sam, Samsung's vice president of the

Record November for key construction industry regarding order intake
Following a weak October, the order books of the German key construction
industry filled up significantly in November. Order intake saw real growth of
15 percent compared to October, the German Federal Statistical Office announced
on January 25. This marked the strongest increase in a November since the
beginning of the time series in 1991. Residential construction companies as
well as commercial general construction and civil engineering firms reported
higher order intakes, a spokesman for the authority stated. (DPA - January 25,
