Autoumsatz von PSA fällt im dritten Quartal trotz Preisoffensive
Der Konzernumsatz von PSA Peugeot Citroën ist im dritten Quartal binnen 
Jahresfrist um 1,6 Prozent auf 12,3 Milliarden Euro gestiegen. Allerdings fiel 
der Umsatz des Kernproduktionsarms, ausgenommen die chinesische Produktion, um 
0,8 Prozent auf 7,97 Milliarden Euro. Eine Offensive zur Verbesserung der 
Preise "glich die negative Volumen- und Währungseffekte nur teilweise aus", wie

Daimler verlegt Teil der Sprinter-Produktion nach Nordamerika
Daimler hat bekanntgegeben, die nächste Generation des Mercedes Sprinter in 
Nordamerika bauen zu wollen. Der Konzern will einen Teil der Produktion von 
Deutschland aus verlegen, um seine Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu verbessern. Derzeit 
montiert der Autohersteller den Sprinter in Ladson, South Carolina, aus Teilen, 
die von der Bundesrepublik aus verschifft werden. Daimler gab nicht an, wo die 
künftige nordamerikanische Produktion angesiedelt werden soll. (Automotive News

PSA-Dongfeng-Joint-Venture startet Bau seines vierten Werks in China
PSA Peugeot Citroëns chinesisches Joint Venture mit Dongfeng Motor hat mit dem 
Bau seines vierten Montagewerks begonnen. Die Anlage soll die westlichen 
Regionen des Landes beliefern. Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile will 2016 
die Produktion in dem Werk in Wuhan aufnehmen. Die umgerechnet zwei Milliarden 
Dollar teure Fabrik wird nach Angaben von PSA bis zu 360.000 Autos im Jahr

GKN erwartet Wachstum für 2014 dank Autosparte
GKN liegt in diesem Jahr nach eigenen Angaben auf Wachstumskurs. Für das dritte 
Quartal wies das Unternehmen dank einer starken Performance seiner Autosparte 
einen über den Erwartungen liegenden Gewinn aus. In den drei Monaten bis zum 
30. September verzeichnete der britische Zulieferer einen Betriebsgewinn von 
umgerechnet rund 202 Millionen Euro. Er übertraf damit seine eigenen

Elring Klinger will unabhängiger von Autobauern werden
Mit Elring Klinger verschafft sich ein weiterer Zulieferer mehr Unabhängigkeit 
von der Automobilbranche. Elring Klinger übernehme sämtliche Anteile an 
Polytetra vom bisherigen Eigentümer, gab die Firma bekannt. Der technologische 
Fokus von Polytetra liege außerhalb der Automobilindustrie auf der Entwicklung 
und Produktion von Kunststoff-Wärmetauschern und industriell genutzten

Schaeffler schafft Milliarden-Anleihenemission
Schaeffler hat an institutionelle Investoren Anleihen im Gesamtwert von 1,2 
Milliarden Dollar emittiert. Aufgrund einer sehr hohen Nachfrage seien die 
Papiere in Europa und den USA mehrfach überzeichnet gewesen, erklärte das 
Unternehmen. Mit den Erlösen will der Auto- und Industriezulieferer Teile 
bestehender Bankkredite vorzeitig tilgen und die Fremdkapitalkosten reduzieren.

PSA's third-quarter auto revenue drops despite pricing push
PSA Peugeot Citroën's group sales increased 1.6 percent year-on-year to 12.3 
billion euros in the third quarter. However, sales at the core manufacturing 
arm, excluding the company's Chinese production, dropped 0.8 percent to 7.97 
billion euros. A push to improve pricing "only partially offset the negative

Daimler will shift some Sprinter production to North America
Daimler announced it will manufacture the next-generation Mercedes Sprinter van 
in North America, shifting some production from Germany to enhance 
competitiveness. The German automaker currently assembles Sprinters in Ladson, 
South Carolina, from kits shipped from its home country. The group did not 
specify where future North American production will be. (Automotive News Europe

PSA-Dongfeng joint venture breaks ground for fourth China plant
PSA Peugeot Citroën's China joint venture with Dongfeng Motor commenced 
construction of its fourth assembly factory. The facility is intended to serve 
the country's western regions. Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile plans to 
start production at the Wuhan plant in 2016. The two billion dollar factory 
will build up to 360,000 cars a year, PSA stated. (Automotive News China -

GKN sees growth in 2014 helped by auto-unit performance
GKN affirmed that it was on track for growth this year, reporting third quarter 
profit ahead of expectations, driven by a strong performance in its automotive 
unit. The British supplier recorded trading profit for the three months ended 
September 30 of around 202 million euros, exceeding a company-supplied

Elring Klinger seeks to become more independent from automakers
With Elring Klinger, another supplier is gaining more independence from the 
automotive industry. The company announced it is taking over all stakes in 
Polytetra from the former owner. Polytetra's technological focus lies outside 
the automtive industry on the development and production of plastic heat 
exchangers and electric heaters for industrial use, Elring Klinger added.

Schaeffler achieves bond emission worth billions
Schaeffler has emitted bonds worth 1.2 billion dollars in total to 
institutional investors. Due to a very high demand, the bonds were 
oversubscribed several times, the company explained. With the proceeds, the 
auto and industry supplier plans to partially redeem existing bank credits 
prior to maturity and reduce the borrowing costs. (Reuters - October 22, 2014)
