Fiat Chrysler erwägt China-Kooperation mit BAIC
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles prüft eine Partnerschaft mit der Pekinger BAIC Group,
wie mit der Angelegenheit vertraute Quellen berichten. Der italienische
Autobauer will seinen Umsatz in China, einem seiner wichtigsten Märkte, weiter
ankurbeln. Im Jahr 2010 gründete FCA bereits ein Joint Venture mit der
Guangzhou Automobile Group zur Produktion von Fiat-Modellen in der
Volksrepublik. BAIC unterhält derzeit auch Kooperationen mit Daimler und

BYD baut US-Produktionsstätte aus
Der chinesische Autohersteller BYD ist nach eigenen Angaben beim Bau seiner
Produktionsstätte im kalifornischen Lancaster in Phase zwei von drei
eingetreten. Mit der Erweiterung der bestehenden Anlagen will BYD der
wachsenden Nachfrage nach emissionsfreien Bussen gerecht werden. Das
Unternehmen wird auch sein Angebot an Mittel- und Schwerlastwagen ausbauen. Die
aktuelle Belegschaft von 400 Personen an dem Standort soll sich in den

Magna baut den neuen BMW Fünfer
Magna wird den neuen BMW Fünfer fertigen. Die Herstellung beginnt im kommenden
Jahr in Graz. Es handelt sich um eine so genannte Split-Produktion, das
Hauptwerk des neuen Modells ist Dingolfing. Magna und BMW kooperieren bereits
seit 15 Jahren. Zuletzt liefen hier Versionen des BMW Mini vom Band.

Leoni übernimmt chinesischen Kabelbaum-Hersteller
Der Autozulieferer Leoni hat einen Anteil von 51 Prozent am chinesischen
Kabelbaum-Hersteller Wuhan Hengtong Automotive Wiring Harness gekauft. Die
Akquisition ermöglicht es dem Unternehmen, ein Lieferant der Dongfeng Group zu
werden und sein zukünftiges Wachstum im asiatischen Markt zu sichern. Das

Eberspächer kauft bei Fahrzeugelektronik zu
Eberspächer erwirbt eine Mehrheit von 80 Prozent an dem kanadischen
Batteriehersteller Vecture, wie der deutsche Autozulieferer am 15. September
mitteilte. Der Kaufpreis ist nicht bekannt. Vecture entwickelt und produziert
unter anderem Batteriemanagement-Systeme, die zur Überwachung des Ladezustands
erforderlich sind. Eberspächer baut sein Geschäftsfeld Fahrzeugelektronik

General Electric will die auf Lösungen für Asset Performance Management
spezialisierte Firma Meridium übernehmen. Der Wert des Deals beläuft sich auf

Reihe von Übernahmen durch GE, mit denen der Konzern Lücken füllen will. Ein

Fiat Chrysler said to explore China venture with BAIC Group
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is looking into a partnership with Beijing-based BAIC
Group, according to people familiar with the matter. The Italian carmaker,
which entered a joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group in 2010 to
produce Fiat brand vehicles in China, intends to further boost its sales in the
country, which is one of its most important markets. BAIC currently also has

China's BYD expands U.S. manufacturing plant
Chinese automaker BYD announced it has entered phase two of three in
construction of its manufacturing plant in Lancaster, California. With the
expansion of the existing facilities, BYD aims to cater to the growing demand
for zero-emission coaches and buses. It will also expand its new medium- and
heavy-duty truck lineup. The current workforce of 400 people at the site is to

Magna to build new BMW 5-Series
Magna Steyr is to manufacture the new BMW 5 Series. Production will start next
year in Graz under a so-called split production scheme, with the main plant for

Leoni buys Chinese harness maker to supply PSA-Dongfeng
Germany's Leoni, a supplier of wire harnesses and cables, has bought a 51

growth in the Asian market, the German firm said, without disclosing the value

Eberspächer takes stake in vehicle electronics firm
Eberspächer acquires an 80-percent stake in Canadian battery maker Vecture, the
German automotive supplier announced on September 15. The purchasing price was
not disclosed. Among other products, Vecture develops and manufactures
battery-management systems that are needed for charging-status monitoring.
Eberspächer is currently expanding its vehicle electronics business field.
