Daimler glänzt mit Rekordabsatz im ersten Halbjahr 2014
In der ersten Jahreshälfte 2014 hat Daimler mehr Autos als je zuvor
verkauft. Insgesamt wurden 783.520 Mercedes-Benz-Modelle ausgeliefert,
12,8 Prozent mehr als im Vorjahreszeitraum. Sowohl kleine und kompakte
Modelle als auch die E-Klasse sorgten für den Schub. Auf dem
chinesischen Markt konnte Mercedes seinen Absatz am stärksten steigern.
Der Smart-Absatz fiel in den ersten sechs Monaten dagegen um 9,7 Prozent

BMW will eine Milliarde Dollar in neues Werk in Mexiko investieren
BMW will in die Errichtung eines neuen Werks im mexikanischen San Luis
Potosi eine Milliarde Dollar investieren. Die Fabrik soll eine
Produktionskapazität von rund 150.000 Einheiten jährlich haben. Der
Beginn der Produktion ist für das Jahr 2019 geplant. Insgesamt sollen
dort etwa 1.500 Angestellte beschäftigt werden. BMW hat bislang keine
Informationen darüber zur Verfügung gestellt, welche Modelle in dem Werk

Kleinwagen befeuern Produktion-Boom in Mexiko
Die Autoproduktion in Mexiko wird in diesem Jahrzehnt in die Höhe
schnellen, insbesondere im Bereich Kleinwagen. Durch soeben eröffnete
und neu geplante Werke werde sich die Fahrzeug-Produktionskapazität in
dem Land bis zum Jahr 2019 um mehr als 1,5 Millionen Einheiten erhöhen,
so "Automotive News". Der größte Teil dieser Fahrzeuge sei für den
US-Markt bestimmt. Damit könne Mexiko dann jährlich 4,5 Millionen Pkw
und Lkw produzieren, 50 Prozent mehr als im Jahr 2013. Im vergangenen
Jahr wurden in dem Land 2,93 Millionen Pkw und Lkw hergestellt.

Fuhrparkmanagement-Dienstleister Fleet Company und Telematikspezialist
Masternaut haben ihre Zusammenarbeit bekannt gegeben. Im Rahmen der
Kooperation erhalten Kunden der Fleet Company künftig Zugang zur
Telematik von Masternaut und können so vom Know-how beider Unternehmen
in den Bereichen Nachhaltigkeit, Fahrsicherheit und Kostenoptimierung

Autobauer drängen ins Geschäft mit Verkehrs-Apps
Daimler, BMW und Volkswagen arbeiten an Konzepten und Apps für
Verkehrsangebote. Daimler will mit seinem Carsharing-Angebot und der
Plattform Moovel bis Ende des Jahres 2014 insgesamt 100 Millionen Euro
umsetzen, die Profitabilität steht erst einmal hinten an. Bernhard
Blättel, Leiter der Abteilung Mobilitätsdienstleistungen bei BMW,
erklärte, der Autobauer wolle Mobilitätsdienstleistungen als profitables

MHI-Vestas-Joint-Venture erhält Auftrag über vier Acht-Megawatt-Windturbinen
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, ein Joint-Venture von Mitsubishi Heavy
Industries und Vestas Wind Systems, hat einen Auftrag über die Lieferung
von vier Acht-Megawatt-Windturbinen für ein Projekt in West-Dänemark
erhalten. Die Auftraggeber sind Skovgaard Invest und Energicenter Nord.
Die Installation der Turbinen im Velling-Maersk-Projekt soll Mitte des

Daimler books record sales for the first half of 2014
Daimler sold more cars than ever in the first half of 2014. All in all,
783,520 Mercedes-Benz models were sold, 12.8 percent more than in the
first half of 2013. Sales were boosted by small and compact models as
well as by the E-Class. The manufacturer posted the biggest sales
increase in China. Smart sales, however, fell by 9.7 percent to 46,816

BMW to invest one billion dollars in new plant in Mexico
BMW intends to spend one billion dollars to build a factory in San Luis
Potosi, Mexico, with capacity of about 150,000 units per year. Start of
production is expected for 2019, with a work force of about 1,500
employees. BMW did not provide any information on what models it will

Small cars to fuel production boom in Mexico
Mexican auto factory output is poised to explode this decade,
particularly small cars. Just-opened and newly announced plants in
Mexico will add more than 1.5 million units of vehicle capacity there
through 2019, much of it aimed at U.S. consumers, according to
"Automotive News". That will give Mexico the factory muscle to turn out
4.5 million cars and trucks, 50 percent more than the 2.93 million units

Automakers enter the mobility app business
Daimler, BMW and Volkswagen are working on concepts and apps for
mobility services. Daimler is set to generate sales of 100 million euros
with its carsharing service and the Moovel platform through the end of
2014. Profitability is another matter, though. Bernhard Blättel, head of
the mobility service department at BMW, says BMW wants to make mobility
services a profitable business. Mobility services are not just a

MHI-Vestas joint venture gets orders for four eight-MW wind turbines
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, a joint venture between Mitsubishi Heavy
Industries and Vestas Wind Systems, has bagged an order for four
eight-megawatt wind turbines for a project in western Denmark. The
turbines will be supplied to Skovgaard Invest and Energicenter Nord for
the Velling Maersk project. Installation of the turbines is expected to
