BMW: Spartanburg findet seine Berufung
Vor 25 Jahren hat BMW sein erstes US-Werk in Spartanburg im Bundesstaat South
Carolina gebaut, dass dem Hersteller helfen sollte, ein größerer Akteur auf dem
dortigen Markt zu werden. Bis jetzt sind etwa 70 Prozent der Werksproduktion
für Kunden aus 140 Ländern bestimmt, womit Spartanburg der größte

Honda: Quartals-Gewinn fällt wegen US-Airbag-Kosten
Honda hat im vergangenen Quartal einen Rückgang um 33 Prozent des operativen
Gewinns auf etwa 153 Milliarden Yen (1,36 Milliarden Dollar) verzeichnet,
teilte der Hersteller mit. Grund sind Aufwendungen für eine Sammelklage wegen
defekter Airbags von Takata. Das Nettoeinkommen fiel um 1,7 Prozent auf 174
Milliarden Yen (1,55 Milliarden Dollar), während der Umsatz um 15,7 Prozent auf
3,78 Billionen Yen (33,59 Milliarden Dollar), stieg, so BMW am 1. November.

Panasonic will Matsumura-Gumi übernehmen
Panasonic hat angekündigt, alle restlichen Anteile an Matsumura-Gumi zu
übernehmen, um daraus eine konsolidierte Tochtergesellschaft zu machen und sein
Wohnungsbau-Geschäft zu stärken. Der japanische Elektrokonzern plant die
komplette Übernahme für das erste Halbjahr des Geschäftsjahres 2018, das im
kommenden April beginnt. Die Kosten belaufen sich Schätzungen zufolge auf

25 years ago, BMW established its first U.S. plant in Spartanburg, South
