Dear all,
With the implementation of the new teaching-only and HPL contracts (which
exchange the teaching 'multiplier' for a 'menu' of teaching payments), are
aware of some issues emerging, particularly as staff try to fill in timesheets
for work. UCU and the Kent Precariat group will be holding a meeting for
teaching-only lecturers, HPLs and all precarious staff on Thursday 3rd October
at 4pm in Woolf Seminar room 5.
We have heard from a range of colleagues about not knowing what teaching duties
can be claimed for on timesheets according to the new system, members being put
on the wrong grade or spinal point, and generally not knowing about what rights
they have as employees.
Come along if you are concerned about your HPL or new teaching-only contract,
so we can learn what the core issues are. UCU can then find caseworkers for
members who need individual advice and support.
In solidarity,
Claire?
