Bio-Diesel Which Costs Lesser Than Regular Diesel And Is 15 percent More
Efficient Launched Written By: Stephen Neil Published: Friday, September
15, 2017, 21:30 [IST] My Eco Energy (MEE), a mumbai-based company
involved in the production of green fuels, has launched their eco fuel
named, Indizel in Karnataka. Indizel is a second generation bio-diesel
product developed by My Eco Energy to be used in diesel-powered
vehicles, and is claimed to be more efficient, less polluting and
cheaper than the fossil-fuel based diesel currently available in the
market. My Eco Energy was formed in 2013 with the objective of creating
an eco friendly fuel solution, and they have done so with the launch of
Indizel. Indizel is India's only EURO-VI/BS-VI emission norms compliant
fuel, with quality that exceeds the current BS-IV norms.
Indizel is a second-generation bio-diesel, which completely negates the
disadvantages of the first-generation bio-diesel which included
compatibility issues with most engines, and solidifying at low
temperatures, thereby clogging the fuel injectors. Apart from negating
those disadvantages, the higher Cetane in Indizel content also results
in higher fuel efficiency. Since Indizel meets BIS 1460 standards, it
can be used in any existing car powered by an oil-burner, and since the
sulphur content is lesser than 10ppm (fossil fuels contain more than
500ppm), it causes up to 80 percent lesser pollution.
My Eco Energy has also developed a smartphone application to help
automate the sale of Indizel through their outlets. The app would allow
customers to have 24/7 access to the fuel, as payments are made via the
app, negating the requirement for a filling station attendant all the
time. The app allows tracking of all Indizel purchases, and receipts for
the same can be printed upon demand. Indizel is produced from vegetable
oil extracts and is currently manufactured in Singapore. The bio-diesel
is then shipped to a few ports across India and is then dispensed to
customers via retailers. Over the next few years though, a full-fledged
refinery would be set up to help in the manufacture of Indizel.
Indizel has several other advantages, including the cost benefits given
by Goods and Services Tax (GST). Since Indizel is a bio-fuel, it does
not fall under the ambit of the petroleum industry, which has currently
been excluded from GST. Hence, Indizel would always cost anywhere
between Rs 5 to Rs 10 lesser than regular diesel. Mr Santosh Verma,
Co-founder, My Eco Energy said, "It is not only a better alternative to
ordinary diesel but is economical and suitable for the vehicle as it
offers better fuel efficiency, ensuring a smoother ride as better
lubricity provides longer engine life."
Indizel is currently available only in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur,
Pune and Mumbai. With the launch earlier today, Indizel would soon be
available in Bangalore too. MEE is targeting a minimum of 250 dealers
across Karnataka over the next few years. DriveSpark Thinks! It is a
well known fact that electric cars are the future, and fossil
fuel-powered cars would be phased out. In the interim period between the
start of the phasing out and finally stopping production of fossil
fueled cars, fuels like Indizel would be the saving grace for owners of
existing fossil fueled cars.
It currently seems like Indizel has only advantages to it, and
absolutely no disadvantages. We will however soon be putting it to the
test and comparing it with the regular diesel in a variety of
conditions. Do watch out for our first fuel review coming soon. Till
then, if you have already used Indizel, do let us know your experience
in the comments below.
