Sorry it took so long to reply. We spent a couple of days away from home.
Wow the radio sure went fast, harder to get rid of all the accessories. The
radio was not sold, but "taken " back by me. I didn't want to upset anyone by
blantantly withdrawing it. I have had some suggestions to how I could use it
myself. More later.
Ian Kennedy offered $30 for all the accessories which I reluctantly accepted,
but I haven't heard from him since I advised him he would have to pick them up
in Napanee. (I don't deliver for $30) Maybe later ?
Just by luck I found the Alert boys working SSB on 14163 today about 2:30 PM.
I was able to make contact, lucky as people were fighting to get in. The net
controller really had to let Europe know it was not their time and to wait
until North America had it's turn.

Haven't had a chance to try that yet.
I listened for their CW station during the 2 meter net but too much QSB. I
could hear others making contact with VE3RCS.
I discovered two days ago that my vertical antenna had a 20 meter open coil
so the antenna is down. Part of it is in the garage and the coil is in the
shop being repaired. Hope to get it up tomorrow then maybe I could use it to
contact Alert. Good luck.
