Yes. I remember the visits to Garden Island very well. John and his wife were
excellent hosts. The island, the post office, the sail loft, John's workshop
and his 40' steel sailboat were all very interesting. One time after our ham
radio visits, my son and I anchored our sailboat just off from John's dock and
rowed ashore in our dinghy for a visit with John.
