K9 version 1.21 has been released (Jan 3rd 2004). Bug fixes and changes: - Implemented right-click list menu "Organize" functionality for the Storage Area and Server Check pages. The menu item was present in version 1.20 but not functional. - The whitelist and blacklist files are now monitored for changes so there's no need to hit the "Reload" buttons after making manual changes and thus the buttons have been removed. - Minor changes to the installer. ~~~~~~~~ This release is mainly to explain something I forgot to mention in the previous version... From version 1.20 onwards, when K9 starts it checks for the presence of the K9 registry entry called "EmailsPath". If this entry doesn't exist or the path it refers to doesn't exist on the hard drive it looks in the current directory for the "Emails" folder. If it doesn't exist it creates a new "Emails" directory in the user's "My Documents..." area. Specifically, it creates it at <drive>:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\K9 where <username> is your Windows logon name. This is the "official" place you are supposed to store per-user application data. Now that K9 knows where the Emails directory is located it saves this information to the "EmailsPath" K9 registry entry so that next time it starts it can find it straight away. One other related item was the addition of the button on the Statistics page, "Change data storage location...". You can use this feature to choose a different location for the K9 "Emails" directory and it will move all of the existing data to that new location. ~~~~~~~~ The latest version of K9 can be downloaded directly from the following links: EXE installer version (installer and uninstaller) http://keir.net/download/k9v1setup.exe ZIP version (no installer or uninstaller) http://keir.net/download/k9v1.zip You can safely install over any existing copy without losing any information.
