After a long hard winter, it's hard to ignore the show that
Flowering Dogwoods provide each spring across the Carolina Piedmont,
and beyond.

Hilton Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History is blessed with quite
a few of these terrific trees, and that's the topic of the latest
photo essay under "This Week at Hilton Pond" for 1-7 April 2004.
To get some different views of one particular Flowering Dogwood,
please visit <<http://www.hiltonpond.org/ThisWeek040401.html>>

As always, there's a tally of birds banded during the period, as well
as a list of recaptures; there's also a link to a new chart summarizing
all birds and species banded since 1982.

Please forward this message to friends who appreciate birds and
nature, and tell them they can get a free reminder for "This Week
at Hilton Pond" by sending a blank E-mail to
<<mailto:ThisWeek@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>> with SUBSCRIBE in the
subject line. Be sure to have them configure their spam filters to
accept E-mails from ThisWeek@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Happy Nature Watching!
