Regardless what Punxsutawney Phil has to say about when
winter ends, we've always got courting Wood Ducks at Hilton
Pond Center for Piedmont Natural History by the third week in
February, and this week we managed to get some good looks
at them.

As always, we include a report on birds banded during the
period, as well as a list of all recaptures. The latter include--
or the third week in a row--another very old American
Goldfinch.
Note that we have a few slots open for our ever-popular
Hummingbird Mornings banding demonstrations AND we have
opened registration for our next winter hummingbird expeditions
to Costa Rica in November/December.
