August 17th and 18th
Frederick Municipal Airport
This year's air show will honor the 60th anniversary of the Eighth Air Force,
Doolittle's Raiders and the Battle of Midway, all of which happened in 1942.
This show joins the past with the present in a spectacular yet thoughtful
way. Thus the motto for 2002.... United We stand Under the Wings of
Freedom.
Flying In?
Frederick Municipal Airport operates under an air show waiver from 1100-1300
EDT on Friday, August 16th, and from 0800-1930 EDT on Saturday the 17th and
Sunday the 18th. The airport is closed to General Aviation traffic from
1100-1300 EDT on Friday, and all incoming GA traffic must be on the ground by
1000 EDT on both Saturday and Sunday. All GA pilots should use taxiway Delta
- you will be met by aircraft marshallers. Warbird and modern military
aircrews participating in the show should check in at the pilot's tent upon
arrival.
