Subject: [jhb] Light Bloom

I'd read several postings saying how much better is Light Bloom, in FSX, after installing SP1. I'ts supposed to produce much more realistic dawn and sunset displays. I tried it sitting at Changi, so no fancy graphics. When I discovered it almost halved framerates I felt a marked lack of interest sweep over me.

BTW, Phil Taylor seems to be a regular attendee at the Avsim SP1 Forum. It rather looks as thogh in producing SP1 their main intention was to increase framerates, as well as deal with known bugs. He's admitting that the price for the higher fps is a marked reduction in some other performance areas. From the postings it's apparent that some are switching back to pre SP1, since the upgrade is causing so many problems, including crashes to desktop etc.
