How did you gert it? I entered VID and put a tick in the Generate New Passwords box. It immediately replied, with my old passwords !Is there another request route? Latest password rejected so I dug out thelast post from them and pasted the password in again - and it was againrejected. Asked for a password reset and put the same password back - and itworked.. They seem to be really screwed up right now. bones bones@xxxxxxx http://woodair.net -----Original Message-----From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On BehalfOf Gerry Winskill Sent: 29 June 2012 13:48 To: jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jhb] Re: IVAO I guess I've stayed on only to help JHB reach its required numbers. I fly VFR from choice but significantly degraded hearing makes ATC contact unattractive anyway. So, I've still been using IVAO when convenient. Intruth I've not been using FSX as much as in the past, apart from for scenerytesting.I can see why they have occasional purges but they could benefit from less navel gazing and try to see some of the situations from the point of view of the users. Today and yesterday are good examples. Having been provided with new passwords, IVAO seems to have disowned them. In view of its length and complexity, surely not justified, I've done a paste and copy, only to haveit rejected again. So, I've requested a new password and see it has justarrived. I'll try again but am rapidly losing patience. No fault of JHB butI'm always, anyway, put off by high falutin and Walter Mitty typecorrespondence from IVAO, with much use of titles and the sort of businessspeak that I thought retirement allowed me to avoid. I'm guessing that worldwide it must be a lot worse and so IVAO have to run a purge to clear out a lot of dead wood. It is a pity their system can't separate out those pilots with zero activity and those with a good track record and give the latter a little more leeway.. bones bones@xxxxxxx http://woodair.net -----Original Message----- From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Paul Reynolds Sent: 29 June 2012 13:17 To: jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jhb] Re: IVAO I hope that is a registration level and provided there is regular activity from within the VA it would be allowed to continue. I can understand why those who have opted out are coming from though. The minimum is 20 for IVAO to accept the airline for operational status but I don't know if they check this. Deactivated pilots have their hours frozen in the IVAO Pirep system but they stay in the system for a while. The full JHB listing shows 29 pilots (10 inactive) but I assume pilots eventually get removed because I don't see Ernie's name in the list. bones bones@xxxxxxx http://woodair.net -----Original Message----- From: jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jhb-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Paul Reynolds Sent: 29 June 2012 11:36 To: jhb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jhb] Re: IVAO This raises the question of how many active IVAO members we have. I've just received an email to tell me my account has been deactivated, through lack of use! Gerry Winskill On 28/06/2012 17:43, Gerry Winskill wrote:Weird! Feeling guilty about not having logged onto IVAO, since their servers went bottoms up, I just tried to access the Pireps page. As I expected, it wanted my VID and Website Password. My VID hasn't changed but the multi character website password has; three times. I wasn't surprised when the new password was rejected, since it contains several characters that might be either letter o or zero, I know not. The surprise came when having rejected it I was immediately admitted. I suppose there will be a similar performance next time I try to log on for a flight.
