I see it in FSX but have a feeling the bug was in FS9 as well. It's
Autothrottle related.
If using a jet, when I switch to autopilot I have the speed set at 240,
below 10,000 ft. Between 10,000 and 18,000 I increase this to 270. At
18,000 ft I change to M=.65, until passing FL240, when I increase to
M=.75, for the remainder of the cruise climb. All in line with what it
says on the tin.
The oddity is that until I switch to M=.65 I don't really hit the speed
I've selected. That's because the throttles don't seem to wish to go
past 74%. If I reduce the rate of climb it makes little difference and
74% isn't exceeded.
As soon as I switch the AP from IAS to Mach the problem disappears and
the throttles go to 100% until close to the desired speed.
I've tried this on several jets and it's common to all. So, not caused
by the aircraft but by FSX itself.
Any ideas in plain brown envelope please.
