weird thing with jaws

Greetings to all of you on list,
I'm currently using JFW 4.51 on my dell inspiron 5100. Recently, Jaws has
been acting weird. For example, there are times when I use windows messenger
and it reads weird characters. I've tried changing display settings, and
nothing seems to work. I've even tried doin a repair on Jaws and all I get is
an error. Any ideas as to why this happens? I get this when using yahoo
messenger as well. Thanks.
