Roger, May I add just one thing to Judith's helpful instruction? That is that inJaws 8, the built-in keystroke for replying directly to someone who posted a list message seems to generally be Insert Shift R. In version 7 it's ControlShift R. And, if you know how, you can modify it, but that's another topicaltogether. Anyway, please experiment with it. Have a list message open, andpress either of these two key combinations. The one that results in Jaws saying "Replying directly to Sender" is the one for you.----- Original Message ----- From: "Judith Bron" <jbron@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 21, 2007 9:57 AM Subject: Re: viewing your c drive Roger, There are actually two ways. The first, that has been gone over on this list several times, is with the keystroke control shift R. The other is do a control R, tab down to the original message and see the email address of the sender. You can copy this into the send field of a blankmessage and proceed. If using this method please be aware of a few things. When copied directly from the original message there might be a . or > signin the address. Before tabbing to the subject line, if any of these characters exist, delete them, your email client will not send them with these things in the address. You can bring it up by pressing Windows key E. Itwill land you on My Computer, but in fact you're already in a two-pane window, with the tree view list of your folders and drives on the left, anda files list view of the contents of each folder on the right. Just arrowdown quickly past the diskette ("floppy, 3 1/2 ") drive so you're not asked to insert a diskette in your A drive and stop on what you'll hear jaws announce as Local Drive C. Now you're right where you're wishing you could be. If you do get stuck on the floppy drive, just press enter on the Cancel option, then arrow down more quickly. Starting there, arrow down and explore all the folders on your hard drive. If you go down far enough so that you go past the last alphabetical folder on your C drive and get stuck on your CD/DVD drive and Windows asks you to insert something, just press cancel, notice that you wind up on the folder just above that, and consider that the bottom of your hard drive folderlist. You can always arrow down carefully to see what's listed below thispoint, but for starters, that isn't the area of your main concern. When you're on a folder whose contents you'd like to inspect, press Tab and you'll be in the files list view of that folder. Also, if a folder says it's closed, then right arrow to open it and see what subfolders are within it. Hope this is a good start.----- Original Message ----- From: "stacey robinson" <staceyr75@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: "jaws" <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 21, 2007 6:37 AM Subject: viewing yor c drive Hi all, WhenI look at my c drive on my computer, I'd like everything to appear in a list sothat I can just use my down arrow with jfw to look at things. I tried going in to the view menu with alt v but I can't find a place to check list. Can someone please help?
