Hi Judith, Not exactly sure what you mean by, turn off. If you don't bring up the utility manager, Narrator shouldn't be running, unless itt has been set to load when windows starts. If that's the case, then go to the start menu, accessories, accessibility options and then utility manager, and change the settings for Narrator.
